FAQs
How long does PPF last?
Defense+ PPF is guaranteed for 10 years
Is PPF worth it? / Is it better than ceramic coating?
Yes, for physical protection PPF excels at preventing chips and scratches from road debris. Ceramic coating provides hydrophobic (water-repelling) properties and gloss but offers minimal impact resistance and requires more frequent reapplication. Many combine both: PPF for protection + a ceramic topcoat for easier cleaning. It's especially worthwhile for high value cars, daily drivers on highways, or those wanting to maintain resale value.
Does PPF damage the paint when removed?
No, PPF peels off without damaging the underlying paint. It leaves the original paint in the same (or better) condition, as the film absorbs damage instead of the clear coat.
Does PPF change the look of my car? Will it yellow?
No, it will not yellow. If going with gloss it can improve the oem gloss, if going with matte it will change the look, usually giving it a more premium look.
How do I maintain/wash PPF?
Wait 24–72 hours post-install before washing. After that you can wash as you normally would.
Should I get PPF on a new car? / Does my car need paint correction first?
Yes, on a new car is ideal. The paint won't need correction and it will be properly protected for years with PPF. If you're car is older it may need paint correction before installing PPF.
What areas are typically covered by PPF?
Common coverage includes: full front end (bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, headlights), partial front, or high-impact zones like rockers, A-pillars, door edges, or full vehicle for maximum protection. Coverage depends on budget, driving habits (e.g., highway vs. city), and preferences.
