Removing the front bumper and headlights on the 2026 Tesla Model Y Juniper is a required step for PPF installs with our PPF Kits, vinyl wraps, headlight replacement, and front-end repairs. This short guide walks you through the process clearly and efficiently, without unnecessary fluff
Tools Requited
- 10mm socket
- T40 Torx bit
- Trim removal tool
- Ratchet and extension
Step 1 - Remove Upper Frunk Trim
Open the frunk and remove the upper plastic trim panel. It’s secured with white plastic push clips. Gently pull upward in the correct spots until all clips release, then remove the panel.
Step 2 - Remove Frunk Storage Tub
Remove the four 10mm bolts holding the frunk storage tub in place. Disconnect the single wiring clip, then lift the tub out to expose the front light bar and mounting hardware.
Step 3 - Remove The Front Light Bar
The center light bar is held in by four 10mm bolts and one wiring harness. To disconnect the harness, slide the gray locking tab back, press down, and pull it free. Wiggle the light bar upward to release the alignment pins and remove it.
Step 4 - Release Fender and Side Fasteners
On both sides of the vehicle:
- Remove two T40 Torx bolts
- Remove one 10mm bolt
- Remove plastic clips securing the fender liner
This allows the bumper edges to separate from the fender liners.
Step 5 - Remove Lower Bumper Bolts
From underneath the bumper, remove all T40 Torx and 10mm bolts running along the lower edge.
Step 6 - Remove the Front Bumper
Leave the top four 10mm bolts installed until the bumper is fully loose. Pull outward near the fenders to release the clips, then support the bumper and remove the remaining bolts.
Disconnect the front camera and bumper wiring harnesses before lifting the bumper off completely.
Step 7 - Remove the Headlights
Each headlight is secured by three 10mm bolts. Remove all three, press the metal retaining clips inward, and slide the headlight assembly out.
Disconnect the wiring harness to fully remove the headlight.
Passenger side note: There are two additional wiring harnesses on this side that must be disconnected before removal.
