The product itself is excellent. I have no issues with the product or video instruction. The issue is the product is a lot harder to put on for somebody with no experience. I think it is a little oversold as a DIY product. I am a blue collar worker that builds residential homes and can do pretty much anything, it is very difficult to get all the air bubbles out from under the film. I have only done the hood and I am regretting buying the full car kit. I had good success with the practice pieces they are a lot smaller and easier to manage. At this point I have to think of it as protection not perfection. I would recommend if anyone is serious about paint protection film to spend the money and have it professionally done unless you are willing to have a lot of blemishes . At least that's my opinion.
I bought a new model y performance and wanted to have a full ppf installed. The cost was prohibitive. I found drive protected, a Canadian company, and the reviews were excellent. I decided to give it a try!
The installation took a long time as I was alone for most part. The videos show very well how to install each part. The front bumper and rear bumper were the most complex to me. The result is not perfect, but very good.
I exchanged a few emails with questions a and they promptly reply.
The next car will be easier and the result will be better!
As a 1st timer, the film was much easier than anticipated to work with, precuts are quite precise so no real fitment issues, also the included squeegie is real nice.
But the amount of labor is INTENSE, probably took me more than 30hrs working alone from start to finish. Just endless loops of spraying, lining up, squeegeeing and repeating. Would recommend grabbing a few helpful buddies if possible, would make the job much less taxing.
Aloha, I just recently installed the full Drive Protected glossy PPF kit on my Juniper & couldn’t be any more happier with the outcome. This was my first time working with PPF and I’m glad I attempted to give it a try. All you need is Time & patiences. Quality of the film & service Drive Protected provides is top notch. Watching their installation videos helped a lot. Would highly recommend them if you want to protect your vehicle.
Would recommend ceramic coating the PPF as well. Keeps maintenance a breeze. In Hawaii we have really bipolar weather, one part of the island could be really sunny and the other part could be down pouring rain. With a black car, water/dirt dried up doesn’t look good. All I need to do is use a quick ceramic detailer & my juniper is glossy again. They definitely have a repeat customer in the near future if decide to get another Tesla!
I installed this kit on my 26 Model Y Performance soon after I took delivery and it was the easiest install I’ve done yet! I had previously done this on my Model 3 and old Model Y so I knew I’d have no problem this time around. The front bumper was a little bit intimidating but due to the new glossy black accents, there isn’t as much hassle getting the bumper down. The entire wrap only took me a few days and now my Tesla is protected while having a sweet finish. I’d do this again in a heartbeat!
The kit was great. Still in the middle of installation but I am so far satisfied with the product and the packaging was great too. Well packaged and the quality is great as well.
Ps. The training videos make is possible for us people that have not done anythign like this. The videos are amazingly great and tell you step by step. Very detailed.

What brand of film do you sell?
Our PPF is our own brand of film called Defense+. We work directly with a Paint Protection Film manufacturer to develop this film.
What is the thickness of your Defense+ PPF?

Does your Defense+ PPF have self-healing abilities?
Yes, our Defense+ PPF has self-healing abilities built into the top coat. Light scratches should disappear with heat from the sun, hair dryer or hot water.
Is your Defense+ PPF Hydrophobic?
Yes! Our Defense+ PPF has hydrophobic properties built into the top coat as well. The hydrophobic top coat allows for the PPF to be easier to clean due to its slick surface. Bug guts, bird droppings and road tar should clean off with ease if not left on the film for a long period of time.
Is the Defense+ Hydrophobic properties just like Ceramic Coating?
Very similar concept, but the hydrophobic properties do NOT replace a ceramic coating. The hydrophobic properties that are built into the film do NOT last as long as a ceramic coating does.
Can I apply a Ceramic Coating over top of Defense+ PPF?
Yes! Ceramic Coatings work hand in hand with PPF. Just make sure when applying the ceramic coating, you apply the coating a little bit thicker over top of the PPF as you do on the paint. The reason being is the PPF acts as a sponge and soaks up more coating.
